Reading for the Promise: Arkansas Literary Festival
There are lots of chance to READ FOR THE PROMISE this weekend at the Arkansas Literary Festival. There will be plenty of fun activities for every age in your family!
To start off your weekend stop by the Argenta Street Festival. Enjoy music, crafts, and games for the whole family! The festival will be on 5th Street in North Little Rock!
If you like to read why not stop by A Book Fiesta? It is a chance to introduce your children to some great authors whose books range from monsters to titans of technology to butterflies. There will be prizes, refreshments and even a piñata on the 3rd floor of the Main Library.
If your kid likes magic, stop by to see Wacky Magic. Tommy Terrific is a big kid who shows up to watch his Uncle perform a magic show. But when his uncle doesn’t show up, Tommy has to take over and has never done magic before. With the help of your kids and a handbook, it is sure to be fun!
For the older kids, check out Thea Foundation Scholarships Presentation & A Rain Falling Star at the Thea Center for the Arts in North Little Rock. Stop by to listen to readings from the journal, A Rain Falling Star. You can also meet winning writers and hear them read some of their works! The Thea Foundation awards scholarships to Arkansas high school seniors in Visual Art, Performing Arts, Filmmaking, Creative Writing, and Poetry Slam.
